Expanding Mandarin Oriental’s residential portfolio

Effective June 2025, Brad Berry and Philip Leighton will join Mandarin Oriental’s Development team. Berry will serve as Head of Residences & Homes, and Leighton will become Head of Mandarin Oriental Exceptional Homes.

Their appointments underscore the company’s growing emphasis on residential and luxury home offerings.

Brad Berry brings over 25 years of expertise in branded residential development and luxury real estate. Most recently, he was Vice President of Global Residential Development at Rosewood Hotel Group, where he played a pivotal role in expanding their residential portfolio.

Previously, he held leadership roles at PortLiving, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, and Kingdom Hotel Investments across North America, Europe, and the Middle East. He will report to the Chief Development Officer.

Philip Leighton has over 20 years of experience in the luxury travel and hospitality sector. He most recently launched and led Villas by Bailey Robinson and has contributed to the growth of Abercrombie & Kent’s Global Villas business. His expertise in product strategy and operations will complement the team, and he will report to Brad Berry.

Strategic focus on growth

Francesco Cefalú, Chief Development Officer at Mandarin Oriental, commented on the appointments: “Brad and Philip bring a wealth of knowledge across different sectors to Mandarin Oriental and will be key cornerstones of our future growth in the residential and Exceptional Homes business. I look forward to welcoming them to the Mandarin Oriental team and seek their guidance to continue driving our future growth.”

These appointments mark an important step as Mandarin Oriental continues to expand its presence in the luxury living market. The Residences and Mandarin Oriental Exceptional Homes remain central to the Group’s development strategy, offering long-term value to partners and owners while providing Mandarin Oriental’s signature service in private living spaces.

This strategic focus on luxury homes aims to deliver a consistent, brand-driven experience, complementing the Group’s presence in major cities and resort destinations worldwide.
