Emmanuelle Tulliez: Can you tell us a little about what the Ecole de Savignac does?
Cyril Lanrezac: The Ecole de Savignac is one of France’s leading hospitality and management schools. It was the second school in France to offer a Master’s degree in hotel management. It’s a very special business school, located in a small village twelve kilometers from Périgueux, where 400 students in suits and ties live in a village of 800 inhabitants.
ET: You’ve also developed a practical training program to help hospitality professionals in the broadest sense. Can you tell us about it?
CL: About fifteen years ago, I had the good fortune to meet Johanna Wagner, who had a major impact on my own eco-awareness. I also had the opportunity to attend her first training course dedicated to CSR in hospitality, which she had just launched. Naturally, I invited her to teach at the school, as she is a recognized expert in this field.
We then decided to launch our first digital apprenticeship course on the subject of CSR, with development content. I recruited a digital pedagogical engineer to create specific content. Johanna and I set up the course, and we also had the good fortune to collaborate with Solène Devys, whom we already knew from our work together at Kotel.

Solène contributed a lot to this project, because eco-responsibility is also about identifying and using everyone’s best practices. As Solène mentioned earlier, it’s not a question of immediate perfection, but of taking an ambitious approach, each at his or her own pace.
This 21-hour training course is aimed at a very diverse sector, from SMEs to large real estate portfolios, sometimes with just two or three hotels, up to ten. Leading this transformation requires a will and a method. Nothing can be improved…
