Amrit Ocean Resort, a sophisticated sanctuary and wellness destination on Florida’s picturesque Singer Island, proudly announces the appointment of Burak Sezgin as general manager. A globally recognized hospitality leader, Sezgin brings more than two decades of international experience in luxury resort management, strategic operations, and guest-centric service to his new role.

Sezgin’s appointment marks a significant milestone for Amrit Ocean Resort as it continues to redefine the intersection of wellness, elevated living, and intentional hospitality. With a distinguished career spanning four continents and leadership positions at world-renowned brands including Marriott, Hilton, Four Seasons, and IHG, Sezgin is known for delivering transformative operational strategies, launching award-winning culinary concepts, and elevating the guest experience across all touchpoints.

“Burak’s deep expertise in both the art and science of hospitality makes him uniquely positioned to lead Amrit Ocean as it introduces new programming and dining concepts in the final phase of its grand opening,” said Shama Barot, co-founder and chief strategist of Amrit Ocean Resort. “His global perspective, strategic leadership, and passion for defining brand identities to captivate discerning clientele are a perfect match for our vision of deeply personal and restorative guest journeys.”

Prior to joining Amrit Ocean Resort, Sezgin served as Vice President of Hospitality Operations at Sharfi Holdings, where he oversaw a portfolio of luxury resorts, elite marinas, fine-dining venues, and exclusive events. Throughout his career, he has opened and renovated more than 20 resorts and hotels, driven more than $400 million in annual revenue across his properties, and launched more than 25 unique restaurants and bars that are celebrated for their culinary excellence and distinct brand identity. Beyond operations, Sezgin has curated high-profile signature events and celebrity weddings, delivering immersive, world-class experiences with impeccable execution. His leadership style blends visionary creativity with a commitment to service excellence, innovation, and community engagement.

“I am thrilled to join the exceptional team at Amrit Ocean Resort,” said Sezgin. “This property is unlike any other – rooted in Eastern wellness traditions and elevated by Western luxury. I look forward to contributing to its evolution as a global standard-bearer for transformative travel and inspired gathering.”

Meaning “elixir of life” in Sanskrit, Amrit (pronounced Ahm-rit) is a transformative wellness retreat where all offerings are rooted in five pillars of wellness: mindfulness, nutrition, fitness, relaxation and sleep. These guiding principles inspire all areas of the property, including the 155 wellness-inspired guest rooms, five dining concepts, and the four-story, 103,000-square-foot revolutionary Amrit Wellness & Spa, known as the largest spa in Florida. This facility includes the Aayush Hydrothermal Experience, a 17,000-square-foot, indoor-outdoor hydrotherapy circuit and the only one of its kind in the state; 25 treatment rooms; and a 1,200-square-foot hammam.
