Oravel Stays, the parent company of OYO and Sunday Hotels in the UK, has announced its rebrand to Prism in a move to reflect its wider global presence and shift towards premium hospitality.
Founded in 2012 by chief executive Ritesh Agarwal, OYO grew from a budget hotel start-up in India into a multinational operator with more than 100 million customers across over 35 countries. The new parent brand will sit above OYO, which will remain a consumer-facing name in the budget travel segment.
The Prism portfolio includes hotels under brands such as OYO, Motel 6, Townhouse, Sunday and Palette. In vacation homes, it operates Belvilla, DanCenter and CheckMyGuest. Extended stay brands include Studio 6, acquired through G6 Hospitality in the United States.
The group also runs workspaces through Innov8, celebration venues under Weddingz.in and provides technology solutions for hospitality operators.
Agarwal said: “The transition to Prism marks the establishment of a future-ready corporate architecture designed to align our expanding portfolio with our long-term vision. Prism is powered by a strong technology engine, deeper investment in data science and AI, and a commitment to helping our partners grow profitably while delighting customers worldwide.”
The company said the name was chosen through a global naming competition that attracted more than 6,000 entries.

In the UK, Sunday Hotels is expanding its presence following its debut last year with the Lansbury Heritage Hotel near Canary Wharf in London. It plans to more than double its managed portfolio of four- and five-star hotels from 20 to 50 by the end of 2026, supported by a £50m investment programme.
Recent openings include Holland House in Cardiff, Walton Hall Hotel and Spa in Warwick, Boxhill Burford Bridge Hotel in Dorking, Sunday London Staines, Exeter Rougemont Hotel and Winchester Wessex Hotel. OYO continues to operate more than 200 hotels across 65 UK cities.
