Hotel Indigo Gatlinburg Downtown has opened, marking IHG Hotels & Resorts’ 175th Hotel Indigo property worldwide and introducing what a press release called “the largest rooftop experience in the market.” The 136-room, dog-friendly hotel blends Appalachian charm with rustic-chic design. The hotel is owned by Viral 24 LLC.
“Hotel Indigo Gatlinburg Downtown is a love letter to this incredible destination,” said Victor Patel, owner of Viral 24 LLC. “Every aspect of the hotel from the design to the dining invites our guests to experience the spirit of the Smokies. We’ve taken the wonderment of our surroundings and paired it with a level of service and comfort that makes every guest feel both at home and inspired, whether they are seeking adventure, relaxation or both.”
The interiors, led by SK Ballard Contract Interiors, combine Art Deco glamour with the rugged mountain environment. Bold black, gold and jewel tones, velvets, organic accents and mountain motifs appear throughout the lobby, public areas and Altitude Restaurant and Rooftop Bar. Curated works from East Tennessee artists and archival photography honor Gatlinburg’s past and present.
Guestrooms and suites offer a contemporary mountain aesthetic with tufted headboards, textured walls, accent pillows, rust-colored velvet chaise lounges and modern amenities including a 55” TV, mini fridge, coffee maker, security safe and ZENOLOGY bath products. Signature one-bedroom suites include The Mountain Majesty, The Indi, The Rosewood and The Appalachian, alongside standard King and double Queen rooms, some with private balconies.
Altitude Restaurant and Rooftop Bar serves locally-sourced new American cuisine, craft cocktails, curated flights and regional beers. Starbucks on the first floor offers handcrafted beverages and local grab-and-go options. Infinity, the heated infinity-edge pool and swim-up bar, provides mountain views with cabanas available based on availability.
The hotel’s 9,300 square feet of meeting and event space accommodates weddings, conferences, seminars and social gatherings. A modern fitness center with Peloton bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, free weights and stair steppers is available daily.
Located near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the hotel is 40 miles from McGhee Tyson Airport and close to Downtown Gatlinburg attractions including Anakeesta Outdoor Adventure Park and Ober Mountain Adventure Park. Dogs up to 100 lbs. are welcome in select rooms with a fee, with up to two dogs per room.
