The Hoxton is set to open its first property in Ireland this November in Dublin’s Creative Quarter. The new hotel will be housed in a restored Victorian building on Exchequer Street, formerly the Central Hotel, and feature 129 rooms and a range of dining and social venues designed to serve both guests and locals.
The property will include a lobby with a bar and Viking-era ruins, an all-day Peruvian-inspired restaurant called Cantina Valentina, a sandwich spot that transforms into a natural wine bar at night called Dollars, the local landmark The Library Bar and Groundwork, The Hoxton’s first nightlife venue.
Ennismore’s in-house design team, AIME Studios, led the hotel’s design. The lobby and bar nod to traditional Irish pubs and industrial touches while referencing the site’s Viking history. The space will operate as a communal area, shifting from a daytime setting for work and coffee to an evening venue with small plates and drinks.
The 129 guestrooms are offered in classic Hoxton categories: Snug, Cosy, Roomy and Biggy. The design incorporates autumnal Irish colors, including leafy greens, auburns and deep browns, and pairs traditional decorative elements, such as scalloping and fringing, with contemporary details.
Cantina Valentina will serve Peruvian-inspired dishes throughout the day. The concept, already established at The Hoxton Brussels, combines the atmosphere of a family-run picantería with modern design and playful presentation. Dollars functions as a casual sandwich shop during the day and a wine and bar snack venue at night, inspired by New York deli culture.
Groundwork, a new basement nightlife venue, will focus on community, inclusiveness and club culture. The Library Bar will reopen as a familiar meeting place for locals, serving traditional drinks and food, while maintaining its dark timber finishes and historic furniture.
The Hoxton’s location in Dublin’s Creative Quarter places it near Drury Street with its independent shops, artisan stores and contemporary cafés. George’s Street Arcade and Powerscourt Townhouse Centre provide additional shopping options, while Grafton Street and Temple Bar are a short walk away for higher-end shopping and traditional Irish pubs. The hotel offers easy access to the city on foot or via the Luas for destinations further afield.
