The iconic Le Ciro’s, a restaurant that has been an indispensable meeting-place for the Deauville jet-set since 1920, is now opening at the Majestic’s legendary beach, offering a unique experience that combines maritime-inspired cuisine with a chic, beachside ambience.
This marks the start of a new chapter for this illustrious property on the Croisette. Having treated fish- and seafood-lovers to delicious cuisine along the Atlantic coast, Le Ciro’s is now bringing its unique aura to the shores of the Mediterranean.
A stunning setting celebrating maritime heritage
The decor, entrusted to Jordane Arrivetz, plunges guests into a glamorous sun-blessed world inspired by the Mediterranean. Designed with a yachting ambience in mind, and one which celebrates French art de vivre to the full, Le Ciro’s invites guests to embark on a joyous cruise around the Mediterranean. Clad in wood decking, similar to that found on the famous “Riva” boats, the terrace is kitted out in a blue-and-white colour scheme to evoke the sea it overlooks. The dining room itself is embellished with white, maritime- themed frescoes in relief, bright striped fabrics, shells and myriad other marine-inspired details to evoke the chic yet relaxed ambience of the most beautiful yachts of the past century.
Authentic cuisine that showcases the Riviera’s classic dishes
First and foremost, Le Ciro’s is a story book of beautiful flavours. In Deauville, the legendary recipes of this “historic” fish restaurant have delighted the palates of leading names in the movie and fashion worlds, from Jean Gabin to Catherine Deneuve and Françoise Sagan to Yves Saint-Laurent. In Cannes, there’s no doubt whatsoever that the stars of the festival and the prestigious events that use the French Riviera as their backdrop will be equally “seduced” by the coast’s latest gourmet option.
Under the baton of chef Gabriella Stocker, who has worked previously in Michelin-starred restaurants in Madrid and London, the spring menu pays full homage to fish and seafood and to the inspirations of the Mediterranean. On it, you’ll find refreshing raw fish options, signature dishes such as lobster linguine, whole fish sourced directly from the daily fish auction, and a host of La Plage’s famous beach staples such as its legendary lobster roll and Caesar salad.
The Majestic’s head pastry chef, Nicolas Maugard, is behind the array of Le Ciro’s delicate desserts, ranging from Baked Alaska with raspberries, and Madagascan vanilla “Tropézienne”, to Carros strawberries, and a praline millefeuille with Piedmont hazelnuts. And lovers of Le Ciro’s signature desserts will also be delighted to still see the giant basket of fruit and the bucket of freshly baked mini-madeleines on the menu.
Much more than a simple restaurant, Le Ciro’s is a chic dining space along the Croisette where guests can come to celebrate true French art de vivre. And whether you choose to visit Le Ciro’s for a simple lunch in the sun, a glamorous supper beneath the stars or a sunset cocktail, an unforgettable experience is guaranteed!
