Limelight Boulder, the first hotel developed in partnership with the University of Colorado Boulder, has officially opened.

With architecture from WATG and interiors by Meyer Davis in collaboration with HBA San Francisco, the 252-room hotel is the largest all-electric hotel in the U.S. and is targeting LEED Gold certification.

Sustainability is woven into every detail at Limelight Boulder—from the building’s emissions-reducing systems to the use of native plants in its landscape design.

The central courtyard features a Flatirons-inspired fountain, while the rooftop pool frames panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

Inside, the 210 guestrooms feature expansive windows overlooking the Flatirons or downtown Boulder. The design language, meanwhile, combines curved, flowing forms with angular lines, echoing the region’s rugged topography. A palette of rich blues, vibrant yellows, and crisp grays is warmed by natural wood, while furnishings create a sense of residential comfort.

Public areas highlight an art collection—including a suspended installation in the lobby—curated by Eaton Fine Art. Meeting and event spaces, designed by Bentel & Bentel, total 26,000 square feet, crowned by a flexible 15,000-square-foot ballroom.

The hotel also introduces Ajax Tavern to Boulder, a sister to Aspen’s iconic après destination. Guests and locals can also enjoy Crepe Therapy Café, led by James Beard-honored chef Mawa McQueen, as well as Ajax Airstream, which will appear at CU Boulder home games throughout the season.

Additional amenities include a coworking lounge, fitness center, game room, fire pits, and an outdoor heated pool.

Limelight Boulder joins the brand’s growing portfolio, which includes hotels in Aspen, Snowmass, Ketchum, and Denver. Forthcoming openings are also slated in Mammoth, California, and Charleston, South Carolina.
