If you’ve followed Mews for a while, you’ll know we’ve never been shy about pushing the boundaries of what hospitality tech should do. Every acquisition we’ve made (and there have been plenty – this is lucky number 13) has been about one thing: helping hoteliers deliver better guest experiences through smarter operations.

That’s exactly what’s on the agenda now that Flexkeeping is joining the Mews team. Flexkeeping has been at the forefront of housekeeping and staff collaboration technology for over a decade, and their team has built something truly special.

In truth, I’ve never really liked the word ‘acquisition’. Instead, I think of this as a real partnership that will have a big impact for hoteliers around the world as we continue our mission to make hotel operations effortless. Here’s a little more on why we made the decision and why you should be excited.

Why housekeeping?

Housekeeping is the beating heart of a hotel operation. For all the focus on guest-facing technology, it’s often housekeeping – the most operationally complex and labor-intensive part of a hotel – that determines whether a stay is memorable for the right reasons. A spotless room ready on time, with the right hypoallergenic pillow isn’t glamorous, but it’s the foundation of a stay you’ll want to tell your friends about.

In many hotels, housekeeping is still managed with clipboards, radios and siloed communication and because it’s not a revenue center, it’s frequently overlooked as a place where innovation happens. This is not only inefficient but also stressful for staff, who never have a full, real-time picture of room status.

Housekeeping should be a core part of property management strategy, not an afterthought. By bringing housekeeping directly into the PMS, hoteliers get a clearer view of their operations, tighter alignment across departments, and more time to focus on guests.

This kind of automation is commonplace in areas like revenue management and the guest journey. It’s time housekeeping received the same forward-thinking approach. In fact, the whole concept of Mews when we began in 2012 was to create a universal app for hotel productivity, and the PMS was an afterthought to this. Moving this functionality forward has always been part of our long-term vision of a truly bold, hospitable industry.

Why Flexkeeping?

Mews already has housekeeping functionality that works really well for smaller sized properties. But we knew that in order to offer a fully integrated solution for large hotels and groups, we needed to integrate a specialist solution.

Flexkeeping was the obvious choice. From the beginning, Luka and the Flexkeeping team have approached hotel operations with the same values that drive us at Mews: simplicity, automation and a deep empathy for the people who use their tools every day.

With Flexkeeping, we welcome a team that’s obsessed with understanding what the unsung heroes of hospitality do. That’s improving the guest experience through diligence, care and efficiency of service, creating the best conditions for real quality.

They’ve built the leading housekeeping and staff collaboration platform in hospitality, used by properties all over the world – from boutique hotels to major groups. With smart automation, real-time communication and analytics-driven insights, they’ve proven that technology doesn’t just reduce errors – it makes staff more productive, guests happier and operations more sustainable.

What especially impressed us is their focus on simplicity and usability. Flexkeeping makes it easy for teams to stay connected, respond quickly to guest needs, and keep rooms spotless with less manual effort.

In the age of AI, hoteliers can choose to focus on shiny gimmicks, or they can choose to use AI as a force multiplier and productivity engine. The results for Flexkeeping customers speak for themselves: 40% higher productivity, 45% fewer guest complaints, and teams who feel more supported and motivated in their work. That’s the kind of impact we want to scale across the Mews ecosystem.

Did we take it as a sign that they were founded in 2012, the same year as Mews? Well, it didn’t hurt…

Why hoteliers should be excited

For hoteliers, this acquisition is about more than just two platforms coming together. It means a future where one of the most complex, time-sensitive parts of hotel management becomes seamlessly integrated into your PMS. That means unlocking new efficiencies and even revenue streams for your hotel. This includes:

Seamless integration: No more switching between systems; housekeeping will be built directly into your PMS workflow.

Smarter operations: Real-time room status updates and task management mean faster turns, less downtime and more efficient staff.

Better guest experiences: Rooms are ready when they should be, issues are resolved before they escalate, and staff empowered to spend more time with guests.

Scalable for every property: Whether you’re a 50-room boutique or a 500-room resort, the tools will adapt to your needs.

Ultimately, this is about making the invisible visible so that hoteliers have a clearer, more connected picture of their entire operation.

The future of hospitality

We’ve always said the PMS is the brain of the hotel. With Flexkeeping, we’re adding essential new connections to that brain: the ability to coordinate and optimize the heartbeat of hotel operations.

One thing this doesn’t change is our commitment to choice. Mews Marketplace continues to provide hoteliers with free access to 1,000+ integrations, including many excellent housekeeping tools. Every Mews hotelier will still have the freedom to choose the technology that best suits their needs.

Our partnership with Flexkeeping is another step toward our vision of a world where technology quietly takes care of the operational complexity, leaving hoteliers free to do what they do best: create unforgettable guest experiences.

I can’t wait to see what we’ll do together.

Our Mews Ventures team works with the brightest minds in hospitality tech to reshape our industry. If you think your business would be a great partner for Mews, you can start a confidential conversation.
