People older than 50 make up less than a fifth of all hotel employees, revealing a stark underrepresentation of experienced workers in an industry that should value their expertise. Research from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s School of Hotel and Tourism Management found that only 3.1% of hotels recruit people aged 65 years or over, despite the potential benefits these workers could bring to the industry.

Azul Hospitality Group Expands Portfolio with Management of Dual-Branded Marriott Hotel

Azul Hospitality Group, a premier hospitality management platform providing innovative approaches to maximizing an asset’s performance, announced today it has been selected to manage the under-construction dual-branded Marriott hotel at City North in Phoenix, Arizona. The project, comprising the 142-room AC Hotel by Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge and the 98-room Element by Westin Phoenix Desert Ridge, broke ground earlier this summer and is expected to open in January 2027.
