New tools aim to help partners personalize, monetize, and scale in a fast-changing travel market

Oct 13, 2025

Expedia Group has unveiled a suite of new AI and machine learning-powered tools designed to help its B2B partners increase speed, scale, and personalization. The updates, announced at its EXPLORE Connect B2B event in APAC, include Smart Trip AI™, a conversational trip planning assistant, and new APIs for merchandising and lodging ads.

Key takeaways

  • Smart Trip AI™: A conversational planning tool that provides curated, real-time trip recommendations using Expedia’s first-party data and partners’ loyalty programs.
  • Merchandising API: Machine learning helps partners run smarter campaigns by surfacing timely, price-sensitive deals — addressing travelers’ growing budget consciousness.
  • Typeahead API: Suggests relevant destinations as users type, improving search-to-book conversion; Tripbtoz saw a 20% lift after integration.
  • Lodging Sponsored Listings API: Allows partners to display sponsored Expedia listings on their own sites to monetize traffic and offer relevant property recommendations.
  • AI integration at scale: Expedia operates more than 350 AI models across its marketplace to enhance every stage of the travel journey for partners and travelers.
  • B2B focus: The initiative underscores Expedia Group’s ambition to be a “one-stop shop” for B2B travel technology, combining AI-driven personalization with monetization tools.
