India’s leading hotel group, led by Puneet Chhatwal, has launched an ambitious roadmap to reach 700 operating properties by end-2030. In H1 2025, IHCL executed 46 contracts for future years and opened 26 new hotels, 14 of which were added through the marketing and distribution partnership with Brij Hospitality and Clarks Group of Hotels.
According to Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL:
“A significant share of the 46 signings in the first half involved IHCL’s Gateway, Tree of Life, and Ginger brands, reflecting the growing potential of the midscale to upscale segments. This acceleration was enabled by multi-hotel framework agreements with the Ambuja Neotia group for the Taj, SeleQtions, and Tree of Life brands, and with Madison for the Ginger brand in South India.”

The luxury spearhead is also being fully leveraged, with Taj-branded hotels signed in Darjeeling, ECR Chennai, Pondicherry, Mohali, and at Kruger National Park in South Africa.
This momentum confirms IHCL is on track to achieve 700 hotels under its Accelerate 2030 strategy. The company now cites a portfolio of 570 hotels, including 302 in the pipeline globally, across 4 continents, 14 countries, and 250+ cities.
