A long-term cooperation
The Land Union Gruppe, an international real estate investment and development company, and B&B HOTELS have launched their partnership with the opening of the B&B Hotel Lübeck-Berliner Platz, located near Lübeck’s historic old town. Under the agreement, Land Union acts as the property owner, while B&B Hotels operates the facility.
“We are pleased to have found in B&B HOTELS a partner who shares our vision of long-term, value-driven hotel development.” – Lutz Strangemann, founder, Land Union Gruppe
This opening marks the beginning of a wider collaboration, with ten additional hotels planned in Germany and other European countries over the next few years.
Lübeck: the first milestone of the collaboration
The newly opened 79-room B&B Hotel Lübeck-Berliner Platz spans three floors and includes twin rooms, double rooms, and one accessible room. Located in a central area near the city’s historic landmarks, the hotel serves as a model for future developments.
This first joint project reflects the partners’ shared ambition to combine real estate expertise with operational efficiency, setting the foundation for sustainable and scalable growth in the European hotel market.
A focused expansion strategy
The launch of the Lübeck property supports Land Union Gruppe’s broader hotel expansion strategy. With a real estate portfolio exceeding €2 billion and 28 hotels already under its ownership, the group continues to strengthen its hospitality investments.
Led by Lutz Strangemann, heir to the SinnLeffers family, Land Union operates offices in Berlin, London, Monaco, Amsterdam, and several international hubs.
For its part, B&B HOTELS is now present in 18 countries, with more than 900 properties, including 260 in Central and Northern Europe. The group has also recently entered the Liechtenstein market as well as the Luxembourg one, and strengthened its Belgian portfolio with the addition of a 12th hotel.
