Holiday Inn by IHG has unveiled a brand new look following a significant programme of renovation to upgrade the iconic Edwardian building and elevate the hotel’s offering in the centre of Farnborough.
The transformation has included a full refurbishment of the hotel’s restaurant, lounge and reception and a complete refresh of the 142 bedrooms, with new decor, new TVs and full bathroom upgrades.
Work has also comprised the careful renovation of the building’s facade, and extensive external landscaping in the gardens and outdoor spaces. This includes new paving, lighting, and the creation of an outdoor dining area.
Overseen by hotel management company, Valor Hospitality, all renovations have been carried out by Northampton-based ABDA Design, and have been delivered in phases to keep the hotel operational and minimise disruption to guests.
As part of the work, the Holiday Inn team has recycled and repurposed materials where possible to reduce the environmental impact of the refurbishment. This has included furniture donations to the Royal Garrison Church of All Saints.
Built in 1902, the striking Holiday Inn building was formerly the Queen’s Hotel and has been a proud part of Farnborough’s heritage for over 120 years, hosting guests including workers of the British Army Balloon Factor and visitors of the Farnborough Air Show.
Valor manages 40 hotels in the UK, forming part of a global portfolio of almost 100 hotels across 65 cities and 16 countries, including other well-known global hotel brands and independent hotels.
