The Maze—New York’s first alcohol-free members club—opens its doors today in the Flatiron District.

The 4,600-square-foot space features a restaurant, coffee bar, curated lounges, and flexible event areas, alongside a full roster of dynamic programming.

Designed by opa Architecture with interiors from Laube Studio, the Maze provides a warm, architectural setting for dining, conversation, and play—placing connection, rather than alcohol, at the center of the experience.

Inside Flatiron’s alcohol-free members club

The club unfolds across three distinct rooms. Reception greets members with a custom mosaic tile pattern that sets a tone of craft and discovery.

From there, the space flows into the main dining room, anchored by a mosaic-tiled bar topped with striking green stone. Antique mirrors frame the bar, evoking the grandeur of a European bistro, while patterned fabrics and velvet seating add layers of color and texture.

Sports lounge and speakeasy at the Maze

The sports lounge offers a more casual vibe with deep sofas, a pool table, and screens for game-day gatherings.

Just beyond, a hidden speakeasy shifts the mood. The darker, more dramatic environment is defined by richly grained millwork and a burgundy palette designed for private parties and late-night events. Here, the design draws inspiration from both the geometry of tennis and the intimacy of Italian cafés.

The architectural framework is made up of arches, symmetry, and mosaic flooring to provide order and flow. Drapery, upholstery, and richly colored details soften the ambiance, resulting in a café-like space.
