“Achieving Net Zero Together”: an award-winning approach

The group topped the Leading Global Climate Action Initiative category for its Achieving Net Zero Together programme.

Launched in 2024, the initiative addresses one of the industry’s most complex challenges: cutting supply chain emissions where data and carbon maturity remain limited.

The programme is built around three key pillars:

  • Assessing supplier carbon maturity
  • Reducing supply chain emissions
  • Prioritising low-carbon partners

Accor has developed internal tools and frameworks to guide both buyers and suppliers in defining practical, results-oriented decarbonisation roadmaps.

Strong supplier engagement across the network

More than 1,000 suppliers — representing around 77% of Accor’s total purchasing volume — are already part of the programme.

This engagement earned Accor the Supplier Engagement Leader label from CDP, ranking it among the top 6% of companies worldwide for supplier climate action.

“This award highlights Accor’s commitment to turning ambition into action. Through the Achieving Net Zero Together programme, the Group and its partners are deploying concrete initiatives to achieve carbon neutrality. Our approach is distinctive because it prioritises action over reporting and fosters direct collaboration between category managers and suppliers.” – Caroline Tissot, Chief Procurement Officer, Accor

An award reflecting a broader industry shift

The WSTHA, organised by the World Travel Awards in partnership with the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, honour individuals and companies driving tangible sustainability progress in travel and hospitality.

With over 700 submissions in 2025 — twice as many as in 2024 — the awards reflect the growing momentum of environmental initiatives across the sector.

The same programme could also receive a second distinction at the 25th edition of the Hospitality Awards, to be held on November 25 at the InterContinental Paris Le Grand. Accor is among the six finalists in the “Best Innovative Environmental Protection Initiative” category.
