VOX Group has unveiled a multilingual audio translation device designed for group tours.

VOX Aura enables live translation of tour guide commentary into more than 50 languages, streamed to VOX radio receivers.

The system operates without the need for smartphones, apps, or mobile data roaming charges, aiming to simplify multilingual group guiding and reduce operational complexity for tour operators.

The device uses proprietary AI algorithms to interpret speech contextually, preserving names, historical references and local details during translation.

The hardware is designed and manufactured in Italy, with a focus on durability, audio clarity, and ease of use.

It integrates with VOX’s existing ecosystem, including POPGuide, the company’s self-guided digital solution for cities and venues.

Together, the products offer a hybrid model of live and self-guided experiences, tailored to diverse traveller preferences.

VOX Group operates in over 150 countries and partners with more than 5,600 organisations across the travel and cultural sectors.

The company, which is looking ahead to its 25th anniversary in 2026, unveiled VOX Aura at World Travel Market (WTM) London 2025.

Vox founder Elio Epifani said: “When I launched our first VOX radio systems, we set out to make guides’ commentary clearer and more inclusive.

“As we approach our 25th year, VOX Aura shows how far that vision has come – a defining step forward in travel technology.

“It’s the world’s first AI-powered multilingual device for groups, fully integrated with VOX tour guide systems.

“Operators can now deliver guided experiences without phones, apps or roaming charges.

“It opens new opportunities for operational efficiencies and new source markets. We’re raising the bar for guided travel.”

Chief executive Fabio Primerano added: “Small and lightweight, simple and ready to use, VOX Aura goes beyond standard voice translation tools by understanding speech in context before translating.

“It identifies and retains names, historical details and local references in real time, producing smooth, natural translations in over 50 languages.

“With clear, high-quality audio streamed directly to VOX radio devices, it’s the closest thing to having a live interpreter.”
