A strategic repositioning in West London
Scheduled for February 2026, the transformation of the K West Hotel into Hotel Indigo London K West Shepherd’s Bush follows the agreement signed in 2023 between Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company and IHG Hotels & Resorts.
The renewed property will offer 231 rooms, including suites, a restaurant with an open kitchen, a neighbourhood bar and an urban wellness space designed for both business and leisure travellers.
As Fergus Stewart, CEO of Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company, noted at the time:
“The signing of Hotel Indigo London K West Shepherds Bush is a wonderful moment, and we look forward to collaborating closely with our partner IHG Hotels & Resorts.”
A design inspired by the site’s musical past
The building once hosted the BBC’s Kensington House recording studios, where David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley recorded. This heritage will shape the interior design, integrating artistic references that echo the property’s creative legacy.
“We are delighted to have added Hotel Indigo London K West Shepherds Bush to our ever-growing UK portfolio.” – Willemijn Geels, VP Development Europe, IHG
The repositioning seeks to honour this musical history while adapting the hotel to today’s expectations for comfort and flexibility.
A location anchored in a culturally active district
Close to O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, Bush Hall, the BBC Television Centre and Westfield London, the new Hotel Indigo will be positioned within one of West London’s most dynamic cultural ecosystems.
The project aims to align the hotel with the growing appeal of Shepherd’s Bush, where travellers increasingly seek neighbourhood-focused experiences blending culture, convenience and connectivity. A trend that IHG has clearly identified, investing in the expansion of its brand across the country, both in the capital and beyond.
