Fort George Hotel and Spa has been named Belize’s Best MICE Hotel for 2025 by the World MICE Awards, marking a further step in the property’s expansion in the business events market.
The award, recognising performance in meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE), was announced at the World MICE Awards gala ceremony held in Bahrain on 6 December.

The judges cited the recent opening of the Lord Ashcroft Centre, a purpose-built conference and events facility at the hotel, as a key factor in the decision. The venue provides more than 6,600 square feet of flexible meeting space and can accommodate up to 500 people.
The centre can be divided into two main rooms – Caracol Hall and Lamanai Hall – with an additional adjacent space, Altun-Ha, allowing organisers to configure layouts for conferences, workshops and banquets.
Scott McArdle, vice president of hospitality at Fort George, said: “Since the opening of the Lord Ashcroft Conference Center in August 2025 and as Fort George Hotel and Spa approaches its two-year anniversary, our team has remained focused on delivering seamless, high-quality experiences for corporate groups.”
The hotel’s meetings offering includes in-house event planning, catering services and audiovisual support, with equipment such as digital projection, conference audio systems and facilities for hybrid meetings. The property also has a range of indoor and outdoor spaces used for events of different sizes.
Fort George Hotel and Spa opened in early 2024 and has gradually expanded its facilities. The Lord Ashcroft Conference Centre was added in August 2025, and further growth is planned with a new room tower scheduled to open in autumn 2026, adding 120 guestrooms and additional resort amenities.
The hotel is located in Belize City, around 30 minutes from Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport, and is positioned close to local attractions as well as transport links to archaeological sites and the Belize Barrier Reef.
