CoralTree Hospitality has added two resorts in Utah, Black Desert Resort and Red Mountain Resort, to its management portfolio. Both properties are located in southwest Utah’s Greater Zion region, known for its proximity to Zion National Park and diverse outdoor activities.

“Our company continues to grow and innovate, and being selected to manage these two resorts that are reshaping the vacation experience in Greater Zion illustrates how we are being recognized for our approach to independent properties,” said Tom Luersen, president of CoralTree Hospitality. “We deliver an exceptional guest experience through our ‘Sense of Connection’ program in ways that honor the communities that we live, work, and play in. This philosophy has translated into continually over-indexing against our competition for guest satisfaction.”

The Greater Zion area offers a mix of red rock canyons, snow-capped peaks and year-round outdoor recreation. Visitors can explore four state parks, 14 golf courses and cultural performances at the Tuacahn Center for the Arts.

“CoralTree’s exceptional track record in managing diverse resort communities and their expertise in blending residential resort rentals with traditional hotel offerings perfectly aligns with our vision for Black Desert and Red Mountain resorts,” said Jared Lucero, CEO of Reef Capital Partners. “Their unique approach to hospitality celebrates the natural beauty, culture and community of each destination.”

Black Desert Resort

Developed by Reef Capital Partners, the Black Desert Resort is a 600-acre resort and entertainment complex that spans the communities of Ivins, Santa Clara and St. George. The first phase of development features around 800 rooms (including hotel rooms and private homes), a 45,000-square-foot convention center, 15,000-square-foot spa, an infinity pool and seven restaurants and bars.

Its 19-hole, par-72 golf course, designed by the late Tom Weiskopf, is a central feature. The 7,500-yard course integrates basalt rock formations with sandstone cliffs. The course includes advanced amenities such as GPS-equipped carts, forecaddies, a TRACKMAN-powered driving range and a two-acre 36-hole putting green. It recently hosted the PGA TOUR’s Black Desert Championship and will welcome the LPGA Tour in April, making it one of three U.S. courses to host annual events for both tours.

Black Desert Resort emphasizes community engagement and sustainability. Approximately 33% of its 600-acre development is preserved as open space. The resort is currently open for preview stays and will officially open its doors later this year. Future plans include a pedestrian-only boardwalk, additional residences, a water park and six miles of hiking trails throughout more than 200 acres of preserved land.

Red Mountain Resort

Adjacent to Snow Canyon State Park, Red Mountain Resort has been a wellness destination for nearly 30 years. The 55-acre property offers 130 rooms and features activities such as daily morning hikes, fitness classes and spa treatments at the award-winning Sagestone Spa.

The resort focuses on wellness and adventure, leveraging its location within the Greater Zion region’s red rock landscapes.
