Dusit International is expanding its presence in the Philippines and has added two new hotels in Mindanao. The Thailand-based hotel company has signed agreements with IDC Prime, a subsidiary of Italpinas Development Corp, to manage the hotels in Northern Mindanao under the Dusit Princess brand.
The hotels, located in Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro, are scheduled to open in late 2029.
Dusit Princess Moena will be part of the Moena Mountain Estate, a mixed-use development in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, near the Mount Kitanglad Range Natural Park. The 184-room hotel will feature facilities such as a lobby lounge, business center, an all-day dining restaurant, outdoor pool, a gym, yoga room and a multipurpose area.
The area, also known as the “Baguio of Mindanao,” is popular with nature enthusiasts due to its mountain scenery, cool climate and outdoor activities. Dusit Princess Moena will enhance the region’s appeal by complementing attractions like the Dahilayan Adventure Park and Del Monte Pineapple plantations.
The second project, Dusit Princess Firenze, will be part of the Firenze Green Tower in Cagayan de Oro’s Limketkai area, near commercial and business districts. The 14-story development will combine commercial, residential and hotel spaces, with Dusit managing 180 rooms on the tower’s upper floors.
The property will target the city’s growing business and leisure markets, offering amenities like a gym, spa, multipurpose spaces, commercial areas and a pool. Cagayan de Oro, known as the “Adventure Capital of the Philippines,” is a strategic location for the expansion.
“We are delighted and honoured to collaborate with IDC Prime to further expand our presence in the Philippines,” said Gilles Cretallaz, COO of Dusit International. “With IDC Prime’s shared commitment to sustainability, we are excited to bring our Thai-inspired hospitality to these vibrant Mindanao destinations.”
The addition of Dusit Princess Moena and Dusit Princess Firenze aims to strengthen its foothold in the country’s growing tourism market. The two projects add to existing real estate joint ventures between IDC, as the property developer, and the Go family, the original site owners.
“IDC was founded on our belief in the Philippine’s growth story, particularly in areas such as these, which are full of potential for transformative development” said Arch. Romolo Nati, CEO and chairman, IDC Prime. “Our projects are recognised for their sustainability and architectural innovation, consistently delivering a ‘level-up’ in elegance and quality. Partnering with Dusit to bring world-class hotels to Cagayan de Oro and Bukidnon is a natural extension of this vision, and we look forward to welcoming these exceptional properties to our portfolio.”
Dusit International operates 302 properties across 19 countries, including 58 under Dusit Hotels and Resorts and 244 luxury villas under Elite Havens. The company’s presence in the Philippines includes properties in Manila, Cebu, Davao and Samal Island.
