Ideally located between Portsmouth and Southampton, Solent Hotel and Spa in Fareham – part of Daniel Thwaites – has unveiled the transformation of its award-winning wellness space, following a six-figure renovation.

Solent’s pool hall is officially back open and better than ever! Taking three months to complete, the project delivers an elevated wellness experience and provides guests with an inviting and rejuvenating atmosphere.

A commitment to wellbeing

The refurbishment includes a brand-new pool area, as well as a salt sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and storm shower. The new design draws on inspiration from the hotel’s coastal location, incorporating soothing blues and natural greenery, reflecting the sea and bringing elements of the spa garden indoors. The contrast of vibrant orange accents will enhance the inviting space, making it perfect for relaxation.

Focusing on health and wellbeing, the new facilities boast an abundance of benefits to users:

  • New Pool Hall and Pool: Swimming is an excellent way to improve or maintain cardiovascular health, as well as improve strength, balance, flexibility and posture. Floor Levelling has been completed to ensure accessibility and to boost overall experience.
  • Jacuzzi: Aims to reduce stress, whilst also improving cardiovascular health as well as offering pain relief by easing joint pressure, stiffness and inflammation.
  • Salt Wall Sauna: Designed to reduce stress and improve sleep as the salt coupled with the heat improves respiratory health, cleanses the skin of impurities and can be anti-inflammatory.
  • Steam Room: Similar healing powers to the salt sauna, helping to open airways, relieve congestion, hydrate the skin and soothe sore muscles. Steam also improves circulation and blood flow, helping the body wash away toxins.
  • Storm Shower: Allows guests to immerse themselves in different rain conditions and climates, simulating a Caribbean storm. The tropical monsoons and fog setting with aromatic vapours and lighting effects have been proven to improve mental health and promote a sense of well-being.
  • Elegant Bench Seating: Stylish and comfortable spaces for guests.

Partnering with French skin care connoisseurs Caudalie, and the award-winning people at TEMPLESPA, Solent Hotel and Spa has created a treatment list ready to give that tender love and care the body deserves.

Whilst enjoying the new wellness facilities, guests can dine at the hotel’s FYR Restaurant (pronounced fire). FYR offers an open plan, theatre style grill kitchen on the outdoor terrace, complete with nearby fire pit just perfect for al-fresco dining. The new menu offers up a selection of locally sourced grilled meats, seafood, British classics and tasty fine-dining dishes for both residents and non-hotel guests alike. Throughout January and February, guests who book online, will receive 15% off food and drink*.

*Subject to availability and not valid on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th February.

Regarding the renovation, Nathan Chart, General Manager at Solent Hotel and Spa, said: “Within three months, the pool area had an incredible transformation, delivering an inclusive environment for all those seeking relaxation. As we start the new year and wellness is naturally at the forefront of everyone’s minds, we look forward to welcoming our guests to experience the new facilities for themselves.”

Gemma Barratt, Group Spa Director at Daniel Thwaites, also commented: “We’ve created a space that resonates with the natural beauty of our surroundings while offering modern, high-quality facilities. We want our guests to feel at home in the spa, which will have an elegant, chic seaside style with a playful feel. It truly is a unique experience we’ve created for the area.”
