Airline technology provider, Accelya, has revealed that Hong Kong Airlines has selected Accelya’s BIDT Audit.

The solution has been made to optimise its operations, reduce GDS costs, and address inventory abuse.

Under the new agreement, Accelya will audit millions of transactions for Hong Kong Airlines across multiple Global Distribution Systems (GDSs), empowering the airline to recover lost revenue and drive greater operational efficiency.

In the first month of operations, Accelya’s BIDT Audit solution identified inventory abuse, resulting in potential annual savings of hundreds of thousands of USD.

Accelya’s BIDT Audit solution provides complete visibility into GDS invoices, identifying discrepancies, uncovering unproductive booking practices, and enforcing agent policy compliance.

The partnership highlights Hong Kong Airlines’ confidence in Accelya’s robust capabilities and proven expertise.

With the BIDT Audit solution, Hong Kong Airlines stands to benefit from “significant” cost savings, improved agent education, and streamlined inventory management.

“We are excited to partner with Accelya and implement its BIDT Audit solution,” said Esther Chan, AM, revenue system development at Hong Kong Airlines.

“The ability to recover revenue while identifying and mitigating inventory abuse is essential for our operations.

“Accelya’s expertise and innovative technology made them the clear choice for us. We’re already seeing positive results and look forward to further collaboration as we continue to optimise our operations.”

Philip Fernandes, SVP of product management of Accelya, added: “We are delighted to welcome Hong Kong Airlines to the family of airlines using our BIDT Audit solution. Our goal is to help airlines eliminate inefficiencies and unlock new revenue opportunities.

“We are proud that, within just one month, we have already delivered measurable results that add significant value to their bottom line.”
