Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced a strategic reorganisation of its senior management team, marking a further step in the company’s move towards a more brand-led approach. Three key appointments have been announced, aimed at accelerating growth and strengthening relationships with owners and investors.

Marc Jacheet to head EAME region

Effective 17 March 2025, Marc Jacheet will join Hyatt as Group President for Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EAME). He will officially take up his position on 1ᵉʳ July 2025.

With over 25 years of international experience in luxury and consumer goods companies, he has held senior positions at De Beers, Louis Vuitton, Moët & Chandon, Evian, as well as Tiffany & Co. where he oversaw operations in Asia Pacific and EMEA. Based in Zurich, he will report directly to Mark Hoplamazian, President & CEO of Hyatt.

Having led Hyatt’s strong expansion in the EAME region since 2022, Javier Águila is moving to a strategic global role. From 1ᵉʳ July 2025, he will become Chief Growth Officer, responsible for the Group’s development strategy and transactions.

This appointment is in addition to his recent appointment as President of the Inclusive Collection from 1ᵉʳ March 2025. During the transition, he will continue to provide leadership to the EAME region alongside Marc Jacheet before focusing fully on his new duties.

Currently Hyatt’s Chief Growth Officer since 2022, Jim Chu will take on a key role from 1ᵉʳ July 2025 as Head of Owner Relations.

His aim will be to intensify relations with owners and investors, a major issue for the Group’s growth. With over 20 years’ experience at Hyatt, he will continue to work closely with Mark Hoplamazian.

A more agile, brand-centric strategy

These changes are part of Hyatt’s drive to structure its development around five major brand categories: Lifestyle, Luxury, Inclusive, Classics and Essentials. The company is counting on both experienced and strategic talent to accelerate its development.

‘Today’s announcements highlight two key points for Hyatt. First, the addition of leading business leaders with deep brand and operational expertise, such as Marc Jacheet, will strengthen EAME’s performance and growth momentum and accelerate our evolution into a more brand-focused, higher-performing business. Second, the assignment of new strategic roles to Hyatt executives such as Javier Águila and Jim Chu demonstrates the agile leadership capabilities we are developing for the future.’ Mark Hoplamazian, Hyatt CEO

With these adjustments, Hyatt affirms its commitment to creating even greater value for its customers, partners and investors, while continuing its international expansion.
