Corinthia Hotels has opened Corinthia Grand Hotel du Boulevard Bucharest, an all-suite property in Romania’s capital. The hotel is housed in a historic building that has undergone restoration to serve as a hospitality venue.

The opening coincides as Corinthia stays active: just last week it announced it was acquiring two hotels in Beverly Hills, Calif.. as its CEO, Simon Casson, leads the group through global growth.

Corinthia Grand Hotel du Boulevard Bucharest is located at the intersection of Calea Victoriei and Elisabeta Boulevard, a central area known for its historical significance and architectural heritage. Originally inaugurated in 1873, it was among the first in the city to feature electric lighting and an elevator. Over the years, it has been used for various purposes and has hosted royalty, dignitaries and cultural figures. It is now designated as a national monument and has been restored to accommodate travelers.

“With this opening, we continue our commitment to creating guest experiences that reflect both history and modern hospitality,” said Simon Casson, CEO of Corinthia Hotels. “Bucharest has a long cultural tradition, and we are pleased to contribute to its development as a destination.”

The hotel consists of 30 suites, each designed with a layout that provides space for relaxation and work. The furnishings and decor are selected to align with the building’s architectural style while ensuring comfort. Large windows allow for natural light, and the accommodations aim to provide a balance between traditional and modern elements.

Dining options include three venues, each serving a different purpose. Boulevard 73 is located in the former grand ballroom and offers a menu that combines French and Romanian cuisine. The space retains its historical design, providing a setting for formal dining. Sass’ Restaurant & Lounge, an extension of Sass’ Café Monaco, serves Mediterranean dishes, including Wagyu beef and caviar. It transitions from a dining space into a nightlife venue with resident DJs. The Heritage Bar provides a selection of teas during the afternoon and a cocktail menu inspired by the city’s history.

Guests have access to the Corinthia Spa, which features treatment rooms, a fitness center and wellness programs. The spa offers therapies that integrate traditional and modern techniques.

“We are pleased to introduce Corinthia Grand Hotel du Boulevard Bucharest,” said Jean-Pierre Mifsud, general manager. “This hotel brings together historical significance and contemporary hospitality, providing guests with an opportunity to experience Bucharest from a unique perspective.”
