Stonebridge Companies has added the MC Hotel in Montclair, N.J., to its growing portfolio of managed Autograph Collection properties. The eight-story 159-room hotel joins Stonebridge’s managed portfolio through a partnership with CSP MC Partners LP, an affiliate of Circle Squared Alternative Investments led by CEO Jeff Sica.
The hotel, located in downtown Montclair, includes a rooftop bar and lounge on the ninth floor with views of the Manhattan skyline, more than 3,000 square feet of rooftop space and over 8,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
“The MC Hotel is an exceptional asset in a thriving market and we are proud to welcome it to our managed family of Autograph Collection Hotels,” said Rob Smith, president and CEO of Stonebridge Companies. “Its location, design and immersive connection to the Montclair arts scene make it a perfect fit for our lifestyle portfolio. We look forward to enhancing the hotel’s performance while preserving its unique identity.”
The hotel is surrounded by key Montclair landmarks including the Wellmont Theater, Montclair State University and the Montclair Art Museum. It also gives guests access to recurring local events such as the Montclair Jazz Festival and the Montclair Film Festival.
The MC Hotel includes a permanent art collection displayed throughout public areas featuring work from both national and local artists. The collection contributes to the property’s positioning within the Autograph Collection brand which emphasizes properties with distinct character and local identity.
Smith added that the hotel’s location and integration into the Montclair arts and cultural scene “make it a compelling addition to our lifestyle portfolio.”
Stonebridge Companies continues to expand its management platform across full-service, lifestyle and select-service segments. With the addition of the MC Hotel it strengthens its presence in the Northeast adding another urban lifestyle hotel to its Autograph Collection lineup.
The hotel’s ownership group CSP MC Partners LP has partnered with Stonebridge on the property to maintain operational continuity while aligning with the Marriott Autograph Collection standards.
The property’s integration into the Autograph Collection is part of a broader trend of boutique and lifestyle properties entering soft-branded portfolios under larger hotel flags. This move allows hotels to retain individual identity while gaining access to loyalty programs, distribution platforms and operational support.
