An extraordinary all-inclusive luxury tented eco-resort that seamlessly fuses high-end design with deep respect for nature. The adventure begins upon arrival with a thrilling 400-meter zip line ride into the heart of the wilderness.

Nestled deep within Cambodia’s South Cardamom Rainforest, Shinta Mani Wild stands as one of Bensley’s most ambitious and visionary projects. This extraordinary 865-acre property, home to 875,000 trees, a pristine wild river and breathtaking waterfalls, was acquired with a singular purpose: to prevent deforestation caused by mining and logging. By securing this vital stretch of land, Bensley ensured the protection of one of Southeast Asia’s last remaining rainforest corridors. His solution was to design a high-yield, low-impact luxury camp dedicated to conservation, offering an experience where opulence and environmental responsibility coexist in perfect harmony.

Shinta Mani Wild is a masterclass in immersive storytelling. Bensley envisioned the property as an adventure through time, transporting guests to a glamorous 1960s-era safari expedition. This concept is woven into every facet of the experience, from its bold design choices to the adrenaline-inducing arrival. The dramatic optional zip line arrival immediately sets the tone for an experience that is equal parts adventure, luxury, and environmental stewardship.

Each tent features a private outdoor bathtub, offering complete seclusion and uninterrupted views of the lush, wild jungle beyond.

Shinta Mani Wild’s location, situated between three national parks, offers a rare level of seclusion and immersion in nature. The camp is designed to blend seamlessly into its lush surroundings. Elevated walkways replace traditional roads to minimize ecological disruption, ensuring that guests move through the landscape without disturbing the delicate ecosystem.

The 15 luxury tents, perched on stilts along the rushing river, are positioned with privacy and breathtaking views in mind. Each tent is a tribute to the spirit of exploration, modelled after vintage expedition camps yet infused with modern comforts. Durable materials like steel and heavy canvas ensure longevity while reinforcing the aesthetic of a bygone era of adventure. Expansive decks and open-air elements further enhance the connection to the wilderness, allowing guests to feel the pulse of the rainforest at all times.

Bensley’s signature maximalist approach is evident throughout the camp’s interiors. The design is a rich tapestry of bold patterns, striking textures, and intricate Cambodian craftsmanship. Locally sourced materials and traditional techniques play a key role, celebrating the country’s artistic heritage. Every tent is adorned with hand-carved furnishings, vibrant textiles, and a curated selection of antiques. Vintage maps, leather-bound travel trunks, and other relics of exploration contribute to the narrative, making each space feel like the private retreat of an intrepid 20th-century adventurer.

Despite the nostalgic aesthetic, no comfort has been sacrificed. Plush king-size beds, outdoor deep soaking tubs, and thoughtfully placed seating areas ensure that relaxation is never compromised.

Beyond the accommodations, the camp’s communal areas continue the story of adventure and indulgence. The Khmer Tonics Spa embraces a minimalist philosophy, allowing nature itself to take center stage.

Landscape design is another crucial element in Shinta Mani Wild’s success, both aesthetically and ecologically. Unlike traditional resorts that impose manicured gardens onto the land, Bensley chose to work with nature rather than against it. Native plants dominate the landscape, reinforcing the seamless transition between the camp and the jungle beyond. Winding pathways follow the land’s natural contours, ensuring that the forest remains largely undisturbed. Construction was carried out with painstaking attention to detail, minimizing disruption to the ecosystem and ensuring that the biodiversity of the area remains intact.

What sets Shinta Mani Wild apart is its ability to offer luxury without compromising on sustainability. Guests are not only treated to world-class accommodations but also invited to engage with the property’s conservation efforts. The camp works closely with Wildlife Alliance, an NGO dedicated to protecting Cambodia’s endangered species and combating illegal poaching and logging. Guests can join rangers on anti-poaching patrols, participate in wildlife monitoring, or simply learn about the ongoing efforts to preserve this remarkable region.

Ultimately, Shinta Mani Wild exemplifies how thoughtful, intentional design can create a truly transformative experience. Bensley has masterfully crafted a destination that is equal parts thrilling, indulgent, and environmentally responsible. Every element of the camp tells a story of adventure, heritage, and an unwavering commitment to conservation. Shinta Mani Wild is more than just a place to stay; it is a journey, an exploration, and a testament to the power of design in protecting our planet’s most precious landscapes.
