Accor announces the opening of three new hotels in Madrid in 2025 under its Ibis brands: ibis Styles Madrid Airport Valdebebas, ibis Madrid Norte Las Tablas, and ibis Budget Madrid Albasan, totaling 509 rooms. This expansion strengthens the group’s presence in the Spanish capital as part of its strategic development plan in Spain.

Strategic openings to reinforce Accor’s presence in Madrid

Madrid, one of Europe’s key tourist and economic hubs, remains a vital destination for Accor. By the end of 2024, the group had 25 hotels in the Spanish capital, with a total of 3,605 rooms. In 2025, with the opening of these three Ibis hotels, Accor continues to expand its portfolio in Madrid and meet the growing demand for affordable accommodations, further consolidating its position in the city’s tourism and business market.

ibis Styles Madrid Airport Valdebebas: Accor has recently opened the Ibis Styles Madrid Airport Valdebebas, strategically located near Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, directly opposite the airport’s Terminal 4 (T4). The hotel offers a total of 260 rooms, catering to both business and leisure travelers. The room options include business accommodations, as well as select rooms featuring private terraces. This hotel will be managed by AGP Hotels.

Facilities and features

The property boasts a variety of amenities, including a dining venue « Hatsy » that  serves as the main restaurant, alongside a 24-hour snack bar for those in need of a quick bite at any time. Furthermore, the hotel features a pool, a rooftop terrace, and a shuttle service to and from the airport. In addition, the hotel includes underground parking to accommodate both long- and short-term visitors.

This opening adds to Accor’s growing presence in Madrid, with Ibis Budget Madrid Aeropuerto, which opened in 2023, already serving the airport area. These two ibis properties are expected to meet the demand for accommodation in one of Spain’s busiest regions for both business and tourist travelers.

With this expansion, Accor continues to strengthen its presence in Spain, where it currently operates 78 hotels across the Ibis Styles, Ibis, and Ibis Budget brands. This ongoing growth aligns with the company’s commitment to increasing its portfolio of midscale and budget hotels in key European cities, catering to a broad range of travelers.

Strategic location and market potential

The location of Ibis Styles Madrid Airport Valdebebas is particularly advantageous given its proximity to the airport, which is a major hub for both domestic and international travel.

ibis Madrid Norte Las Tablas, which will open in the third quarter of 2025, will be situated in the Las Tablas business district. It will feature 148 rooms spread over five floors, as well as 79 parking spaces equipped with electric vehicle charging stations.

Finally, ibis Budget Madrid Albasanz, scheduled to open at the end of 2025, will be located in the Julián Camarillo business district. This hotel will have 101 rooms and will be managed by Engage Management Hospitality.

Accor continues its expansion with economic and premium brands in Spain and Portugal

In addition to these three new openings in Madrid, Accor continues its development in Iberia. The group plans to introduce new brands like Fairmont (luxury) and SLS (lifestyle) with the opening of several properties, including Fairmont La Hacienda Costa del Sol in Spain and SLS Barcelona in 2025. These additions will further strengthen the group’s presence in the luxury and lifestyle segments.

Accor, with its 96 hotels in Spain by the end of 2024, including brands such as Sofitel, Novotel, Mercure, and Ibis, offers a range of hotels across all segments, from economy to luxury, contributing to the region’s tourism development.

Accor’s expansion is not limited to Madrid, as it also continues in Portugal. The group will open its first hotel in the Azores with Mercure Ponta Delgada Azores. This hotel, located in the historic Pensione Central, will offer 75 rooms and modern facilities, including a spa and two outdoor pools, marking a new milestone for the Mercure brand in Portugal.
