Sage Hospitality Group has entered a partnership with Miami-based CL Hotels, bringing three properties into its portfolio: Hotel La Jolla in San Diego; The Coachman Hotel in Lake Tahoe; and Circa 39 Hotel in Miami Beach. The agreement expands Sage’s footprint in California and Florida and reflects its continued focus on lifestyle hotels in high-demand resort destinations.

“We’re incredibly excited to be joining forces with CL Hotels with the addition of these three dynamic properties in high-profile markets,” said Daniel del Olmo, president and co-CEO of Sage Hospitality Group. “We believe that great outcomes begin with great partners—and this strategic relationship reflects our continued commitment to delivering operational excellence and maximizing returns for our stakeholders while creating compelling guest experiences. We look forward to bringing our vision, which is to redefine how the world experiences hospitality, to life at these hotels.”

CL Hotels, which has over 20 years of experience in hospitality investments, selected Sage as its operating partner. “Each of these hotels represents a unique asset within highly competitive markets, and selecting the right operating partner was a critical decision,” said Joao Woiler, managing partner of CL Hotels.

Hotel La Jolla in San Diego, now managed by Sage Hospitality.

“Sage stood out for their disciplined approach, focus on operational excellence, restaurant expertise and proven ability to elevate distinctive properties. Their track record in both urban and resort destinations made them the clear choice to help us maximize long-term value while preserving the character of each hotel,” added Clemente Beda, also managing partner at CL Hotels.

Sage will oversee hotel operations and will manage food and beverage at Hotel La Jolla and The Coachman through its culinary division, Sage Restaurant Concepts.

Hotel La Jolla, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, features 110 rooms and underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation in 2024. It includes a rooftop restaurant, Sea & Sky, and the Hiatus Lounge. Located near La Jolla’s coastline, the property offers event space, beach cruiser rentals and views of the Pacific.

The Coachman Hotel in South Lake Tahoe has 104 rooms and combines contemporary design with access to outdoor recreation. Amenities include a café-bar, fire pits, pool and pet-friendly policies.

Circa 39 in Miami Beach offers 97 rooms, a courtyard, restaurant, beach service and a pool. CL Hotels plans a renovation and rebranding that will place it in IHG’s Vignette Collection.

The additions come as Sage grows its lifestyle portfolio, following recent developments in Savannah, New Orleans and Jacksonville.
