Hotel Equities has opened the AC Hotel Wichita Downtown, the first AC Hotel by Marriott in Kansas and the latest addition to its lifestyle portfolio. The property, part of the Marriott Bonvoy brand collection, is located in Wichita’s Old Town and is owned by Spartan Downtown LLC. It is managed by Greenwood Hospitality, a strategic partner of Hotel Equities.
“This hotel opening represents more than just a new addition to our portfolio, it reflects HE’s ongoing commitment to developing exceptional properties in dynamic markets,” said Ben Rafter, CEO of Hotel Equities. “This thoughtfully designed hotel brings a fresh energy and elevated guest experience to Wichita’s Old Town, and we’re proud to partner with the owners and Marriott to contribute meaningfully to the city’s continued growth and revitalization.”
The 118-key hotel occupies the historic Brown/Broadway Plaza Building, originally built in 1929. The building once housed the Russell Stover Candy Shop for more than 50 years. Now reimagined, the adaptive reuse project combines the brand’s clean, modern aesthetic with preserved architectural details.
The hotel includes a 650-square-foot fitness center and 2,000 square feet of flexible event space. Guests can also visit the European-style AC Kitchen for breakfast and the AC Lounge for cocktails and tapas.
Located at 105 S. Broadway, the hotel is near INTRUST Bank Arena, Century II Convention Center and several arts and innovation districts. It is positioned to serve both leisure and business travelers.
The AC Hotel Wichita Downtown is the second AC Hotel by Marriott in Hotel Equities’ portfolio and the third property it operates in Wichita. The company now manages five hotels in Kansas.
