Mama Shelter is set to open Mama Shelter Singapore in September 2025, marking the brand’s first property in Asia and its 20th worldwide.
Located on Killiney Road in the Somerset district, the 115-room property will feature the first-ever Mama Shelter bunk room for families or friends traveling together and will be part of Accor’s Ennismore brand.
“When we opened the first Mama in Paris, we never imagined she would travel so far. But here we are in Singapore. A city full of life, creativity and character. I feel a real sense of pride seeing Mama’s spirit take root in Asia for the first time. This is not just another opening for us. It is a new chapter in the Mama story,” said Serge Trigano, co-founder of Mama Shelter.
Designed by Dion & Arles, Mama Shelter Singapore is targeted at community living rather than just overnight stays. The design blends the company’s style with Singapore’s cultural influences. Interiors will include neon signage, colorful murals, patterned upholstery in lifts, Peranakan-inspired carpets, vibrant rooftop tiles and furniture with bamboo-shaped legs, while the ceiling will feature a hand-painted mural by Parisian street artist Beniloys, created over three months on site. In addition, the rooftop will feature tropical greenery, mosaic-tiled pools and almost half the rooms will have private terraces.
Mama Shelter began in Paris and has expanded to locations such as London, Lisbon, Dubai and Nice. Future openings are planned for Cape Town, Amsterdam and Lake Como.
