The historic hotel launches immersive experiences across the country house estate
Palé Hall Hotel, the five-star country retreat in North Wales on the edge of Eryri (Snowdonia National Park), is inviting guests to embrace the season with a new collection of immersive experiences set against a backdrop of autumn colours and mountain views. From creative ceramic workshops in a new Pottery & Art Studio to guided wine tastings in the sleek subterranean Wine Cellar, and traditional clay pigeon shooting on the historic estate, each designed to inspire, restore, and delight the senses.
These exciting new offerings are part of the rejuvenation of Palé Hall, brought to life by owners Anthony and Donna Cooper-Barney and their ongoing vision to expand the estate and deliver a refined and immersive experience for guests to treasure.
New experiences at Palé Hall this autumn include:
The Hearth Private Dining Room
Palé Hall Hotel has recently launched The Hearth private dining room, offering a warm, elegant setting for intimate gatherings, complete with a Chef’s Station and dedicated sommelier service. Once the working kitchen of the original 1871 house, the space has been transformed into a refined dining room, retaining its original cast iron hearth and now reimagined with bespoke wallpaper created exclusively by Liberty James Studio. The Hearth by Candlelight event series will see Head Chef Ed Marsh host just eight guests for an intimate multi-course tasting menu each season, showcasing seasonal produce from the estate’s gardens and sharing the stories behind each dish.
The Wine Cellar
The newly opened Wine Cellar at Palé Hall is a sleek, subterranean sanctuary, its shelves lined with rare vintages and fine labels from across the globe, including standout bottles from celebrated Welsh vineyards. Curated by the hotel’s sommelier, this elegant space hosts guided wine tastings, indulgent wine-and-cheese evenings, and exclusive experiences for devoted wine lovers. Each gathering is complemented by artisan Welsh cheeses and locally sourced charcuterie, enjoyed within the intimate glow of the cellar’s atmospheric stone walls.
Pottery & Art Studio
The hotel’s Fine Art & Antiques Studio now houses the Pottery Studio, where ceramicist-in-residence Jo-Anna Duncalf leads small, mindful workshops. Guests can work at the wheel or by hand to shape, decorate and glaze their own pieces, with colour palettes inspired by the surrounding gardens. The tranquil setting offers creative inspiration at every turn, and each session concludes with a seasonal lunch prepared by the hotel’s chefs.
Clay Pigeon Shooting
In keeping with the traditions of a country estate, Palé Hall now offers guided clay pigeon shooting sessions within its scenic grounds, with views stretching over the surrounding hills and woodland. Whether for couples, small groups, or corporate incentives, it is a spirited outdoor pursuit that combines skill, camaraderie, and the authentic atmosphere of the Welsh countryside.
Launching this September – Gym & Treatment Rooms
For the first time in its history, Palé Hall will introduce a luxury Fitness Studio and Treatment Rooms to enhance its wellness offering. The new gym will feature state-of-the-art NOHRD equipment and host a variety of energising and restorative classes. In the serene treatment rooms, guests can enjoy an indulgent menu of massages and wellness therapies delivered by expert therapists. Together, they create a harmonious balance of invigorating activity and restorative calm for those seeking complete relaxation.
Launching this October – The Whisky & Cigar Lounge
Opening this autumn, the Whisky & Cigar Lounge will provide a warm, wood-panelled retreat for after-dinner indulgence. Guests can sink into soft leather chairs, linger over the glow of amber whisky in cut crystal, and explore an approachable yet carefully curated selection, from well-loved favourites to rare and exceptional bottles. Premium cigars will also be available for guests to purchase and enjoy at their leisure. Open to both in-house and visiting guests, it is the perfect setting for unhurried conversation long into the evening.
Guests can book these new experiences alongside an autumn escape at Palé Hall Hotel and discover the timeless charm of North Wales through a season of taste, creativity and relaxation.
