JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa is pleased to announce a $24 million transformation of The Spa at Camelback Inn that will redefine the resort’s luxury well-being experience in Paradise Valley, Ariz. As one of Arizona’s most renowned wellness destinations and original full-service resort spas, the reimagined Spa at Camelback Inn is set to debut in January 2026, offering an enhanced sanctuary of relaxation and rejuvenation.

“As one of the first resort spas in the Marriott International portfolio, The Spa at Camelback Inn originally opened in 1989 as the largest and most extensive resort spa in the Southwest,” said Richard Romane, general manager of JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa. “The transformation of The Spa at Camelback Inn represents a new era for our landmark resort, reaffirming our dedication to providing an unparalleled guest and wellness experience. With deep respect for our heritage and a vision for the future, we are thrilled to reimagine this iconic space and welcome guests to a completely revitalized sanctuary of well-being.”

ariVéa Philosophy

Uniquely in tune with the majestic Sonoran Desert, The Spa at Camelback Inn’s redesign embraces the ariVéa philosophy, aligning the powerful, natural energy of Arizona’s deserts to the personal experience of an individual’s mindfulness — their distinct needs, circumstances, and interests. Every guest is invited to follow their unique pathway to holistic health, and every path is designed to reflect The Spa at Camelback Inn’s six fundamental truths: the power of nature, the timelessness of wellness traditions, the preciousness of water, the importance of personalization, the impact of intention, and the significance of stillness. This philosophy is woven into every aspect of The Spa at Camelback Inn experience, from tranquil design elements and curated treatments to immersive wellness circuits and mindful culinary offerings.

Desert Inspired Design

Designed by the acclaimed architectural and interior design firm EDG, The Spa at Camelback Inn will maintain its 32,000-square-foot footprint while the interior and exterior areas will be completely redesigned, offering intentional spaces for guests to relax, reset, and rejuvenate. The transformation will pay homage to its Sonoran Desert surroundings while integrating contemporary wellness advancements. Guests will begin and end their journey to serenity through separate men’s and women’s locker rooms, which echo the natural materials utilized throughout The Spa, calming the mind with cool tones and finishes and an inviting residential atmosphere. The Spa at Camelback Inn will feature 20 newly designed treatment rooms – including three double suites – offering a range of therapies tailored to each person’s wellness journey. Sound will play a pivotal role in The Spa’s sensory journey with a music consultant curating bespoke audio experiences along with signature scents throughout the indoor and outdoor spaces.

Where Water and Energy Flow

Unique to The Spa at Camelback Inn, the indoor comprehensive Wellness Circuit custom-designed by Bradford Wellness will promote muscle recovery and circulation. It will feature a Himalayan salt sauna, natural stone, aromatherapy steam cavern, and an experiential cold therapy shower with three options: cold mist, bucket shower, or cold air therapies. Past the circuit, guests will find a sunlit solarium with an 18-person hot tub and comfortable lounging. The focal point of the indoor space, The Sanctuary will be a relaxed, open area for individuals and couples to unwind with natural light streaming through floor-to-ceiling windows offering unparalleled views of iconic Camelback Mountain. Quieter and calmer, The Stillness lounge is a tranquil and meditative space for peaceful reflection on Mind-Sync Harmonic Wellness Loungers. Ranging from five- to 60-minute sessions, this experience will incorporate weighted blankets, eye masks, and noise-canceling headphones for total sensory relaxation to reduce stress and anxiety while enhancing sleep.

Surrounded by panoramic views of the Sonoran Desert, the Wellness Waters will provide an outdoor space to indulge in a trio of tranquil hydrotherapies – The Flow (main pool), The Still (salt pool), and The Chill (cold plunge). Two private cabanas will be available to reserve. For those seeking an escape within an escape, The Villa will offer a private pool suite with a dedicated double treatment room, patio, and lounge area for couples or small groups of up to 10 guests.

Wellness & Fitness

Advanced spa treatments meet timeless techniques at The Spa at Camelback Inn. Signature spa treatments will be desert-inspired and incorporate indigenous ingredients like adobe clay, juniper and sage oils, prickly pear, and agave nectar oil. Guests will see familiar favorites on the spa menu such as the Ayurvedic-inspired Bindi Treatment and immersive Vichy shower experience, alongside refreshed options like gua sha facials enhanced with LED lights and microcurrents, treatments incorporating handcrafted natural wooden materials for a grounding experience. Beyond spa treatments, the reimagined wellness experience will include a Wellness Studio offering expert-led sound baths, yoga, mindfulness workshops, and guided meditations. The 24-hour state-of-the-art Fitness Center will be outfitted with TechnoGym equipment and Peloton bikes plus offer strength training and personalized fitness sessions. Additional amenities at The Spa at Camelback Inn include a curated retail space and nail salon.

Holistic Dining

The new Ora Café will debut an all-day menu featuring vibrant dishes and expertly crafted beverages. Designed to be a social hub within the wellness space, Ora Café will feature an open kitchen, banquette seating, and serene outdoor tables nestled beneath natural tree canopies. The menu will be developed with a licensed nutritionist and blend indulgence with lighter wellness-inspired fare, offering foods that meet guests in the moment.
