Meliá White House, part of Meliá Hotels International, launches Sip & Sax – a weekly jazz series at the iconic London hotel. Every Wednesday evening, a pianist or saxophonist and live singer will perform in the hotel’s ‘35 Bar and Lounge, from 6.30pm – 9pm, with guests enjoying 50% off the cocktail menu during Social Hour (7-9pm).

Named after the year the hotel was opened, ‘35 Bar & Lounge is home to almost 100 years of history and is the perfect backdrop for a sophisticated evening of music and cocktails. Sip & Sax features exclusive performance from renowned alto saxophonist Stacey Dawson who has played regularly throughout Europe and at some of London’s leading jazz clubs, and cool crooning pop and jazz singer Jon Nickoll, who has performed in the most exclusive, hip and iconic venues around the world including regular appearances at other notable London hotels.

Unwind to the soulful sounds of live musicians and the clinking of glasses as you sip on ‘35’s all-new signature cocktails, carefully crafted by the Head Mixologist. Cocktail lovers can enjoy a selection of cocktails including the Delicious Sour – a smooth twist on the traditional sour, this cocktail dances between orchard fruits and citrus. Born from the golden age of hotel bars, the Delicious Sour captures the elegance of a bygone era – when cocktails were sharp, suits were sharper, and every sip made you feel important.

The Flora Dora offers a vibrant mix of gin, raspberry, lime, and ginger beer. Named after a flirtatious chorus girl from an 1899 Broadway hit, this cocktail is light, cheeky, and impossible to forget – just like the woman who inspired it. The Martinez is the godfather of the martini, with a richer, more aromatic profile. Believed to be the drink that started it all, the Martinez is what bartenders sip when no one’s looking. A bridge between gin and vermouth, past and future, mystery and revelation.

Alternatively, guests are invited to try the Clover Club – a creamy, tart, and pink perfection – with gin, raspberry, and a velvety egg white foam. Once a favourite of Philadelphia’s elite pre-Prohibition, the Clover Club is proof that elegance never goes out of style. Sophisticated yet playful, like a well-timed wink. Shaken, not stirred, the Vesper is a gin, vodka, and Lillet Blanc with a sharp citrus twist. Born from the pages of Ian Fleming’s Casino Royale, the Vesper is Bond’s original signature – bold, dry, and unapologetically dangerous.

Lastly, the Air Mail features a blend of rum, lime, honey, topped with Champagne – first-class flavour in every sip. A nod to the golden age of aviation, the Air Mail brings the sparkle of bubbly and the warmth of the tropics, delivering glamour and escape in a coupe glass. Alongside the cocktails, guests can enjoy a varied food menu featuring small plates, signature dishes, sharing plates and sweet treats. Enjoy a range of salads, sandwiches, flatbreads and platters, or snacks such as Crispy Eggplant, Breaded Halloumi or Jack Daniel’s Chicken Wings.

Travellers and locals alike can extend their visit with an overnight stay at Meliá White House. Choose from a collection of Mediterranean-inspired rooms, premium and suites with The Level experience which features elevated rooms and amenities, private check-in and out, personalised service and access to the exclusive members-style Level Lounge, with all day eats and drinks. For the ultimate jazz experience, upgrade your room with an in-room record player, plus, a collection of timeless jazz records, curated by the masters of jazz at Camden’s Jazz Cafe.
