
Rocco Forte Hotels has announced the appointment of four new general managers across its European portfolio, alongside confirming leadership for its forthcoming Milan property.
Anna Gricini will take up the role of general manager at Hotel de la Ville in Rome from 1 November, having worked with Rocco Forte Hotels for 16 years, most recently as regional sales and marketing director. Gricini began her career with Hilton International in Milan and later held roles with Starwood Hotels and Resorts and the Dorchester Collection.
Maximilian von Reden has been appointed general manager of Hotel Amigo in Brussels, effective 3 November. He joins from Hotel Schweizerhof Bern and Spa in Switzerland, where he has been general manager since 2019. His previous experience includes senior positions with Mandarin Oriental, Ritz-Carlton, Peninsula and Kempinski.
Meanwhile, Matteo Gentile will become general manager of Hotel Savoy in Florence from 3 November. He currently oversees operations at Lungarno Collection and has held leadership roles at the Beverly Hilton and Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, as well as several Four Seasons hotels in Europe, the United States and Asia.
Ulrich Schwer has been named general manager of The Charles Hotel in Munich. He previously led Hotel de Rome in Berlin and has held senior roles with Fairmont and Belmond at properties including The Savoy in London, The Plaza in New York, and Belmond La Samanna in St Martin.
In addition, Francesco Roccato, managing director for Northern Italy, will oversee the launch of The Carlton Milan, due to open on 6 November. Roccato joined the group seven years ago as cluster general manager for Northern Italy and general manager of Hotel de la Ville and Rocco Forte House in Rome. His earlier career includes roles at Nobu Hotel Marbella, The Franklin London and Hotel Lungarno in Florence.
Founded in 1996 by Sir Rocco Forte and Lady Olga Polizzi, Rocco Forte Hotels operates 15 hotels, resorts and residences in Europe. Upcoming openings include The Carlton Milan later this year, Costa Smeralda in Sardinia in 2026, Palazzo Castelluccio in Noto in 2027 and Palazzo Sirignano in Naples in 2027.
