Marriott International has opened Moxy Tulum in Mexico. The property is the first Moxy hotel in the Caribbean and Latin America, marking a new phase in Marriott International’s development in the region.
The 122-room hotel is located across from the National Jaguar Park and near the Mayan ruins of Tulum. Guests have access to downtown Tulum, as well as nearby shops, spas, galleries, parks and beaches.
“Expanding our global footprint with the vibrant Moxy brand in Tulum marks an exciting milestone,” said Brian King, president, Caribbean and Latin America, Marriott International. “Tulum’s captivating mix of natural beauty, rich culture, and bohemian spirit aligns perfectly with Moxy’s bold, playful vibe—making it an ideal destination for our next chapter.”
The design of Moxy Tulum integrates into the tropical environment, maintaining the surrounding vegetation and landscape. The Welcome Area includes a carved wooden jaguar bench and a neon sign that begins the interactive “Find the Jaguar” game, encouraging guests to find hidden jaguars throughout the property. Latticework inspired by local toys and a clay exterior define the architecture.
Guestrooms feature modular furniture and functional layouts, including 55 Double–Double Rooms with two queen beds and rooms with twin bunks. Each room includes motion-activated LED lighting, keyless entry, flat-screen TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi and a retro blue telephone. Guests have access to a 24-hour gym and can reserve a Temazcal ceremony, a traditional indigenous steam bath.
At the center of the property is the Moxy Bar & Restaurant, connected to an open-concept lobby that blends indoor and outdoor areas. The venue serves craft cocktails, local brews and small plates. The design features murals and an installation with clay lamps and woven elements that form a canopy of interlaced ropes.
Moxy Tulum also participates in Marriott Bonvoy, the company’s travel program that allows members to earn and redeem points for stays and other experiences across Marriott’s global portfolio.
