Radisson Red has opened a new hotel in Twickenham, unveiling interiors that draw on the area’s rugby heritage and sense of community.

The 150-room hotel, located beside the stadium, was designed by DLSM Studio in collaboration with the Rugby Football Union (RFU). It is intended to act as a local hub as well as accommodation for visitors, featuring spaces for co-working, art, and social events.

The lobby, described by the designers as a “community-first” space, combines green and white marble with tan leather finishes that reference Twickenham’s suburban setting and rugby tradition. A sage green tuk-tuk forms the centrepiece, used as a coffee and pastry counter for both guests and locals.

Art and sculpture feature prominently throughout. The lobby includes a large statue of a female rugby player, a suspended rugby ball and murals inspired by movement and sport.

Upstairs, The Loft offers a mix of arcade games, a cocktail bar and a family area. Designers said the space was created to encourage gatherings and everyday use by residents and visitors.

Artwork across the hotel reflects rugby’s cultural influence, with portraits referencing the Calcutta Cup and England’s women’s team, the Red Roses. Photography of players and community scenes is displayed alongside contemporary design elements.

GM Sandeep Kaushik said: “This hotel was designed not as an afterthought to the stadium, but as a living part of Twickenham. From the co-working lobby to the vibrant social energy of The Loft, every detail reflects what the community told us they wanted and needed.”

Holly Hallam, co-owner of DLSM Studio, added: “Our aim was to respect the building’s legacy while creating a modern and welcoming space for hotel guests and locals alike.”

The project was developed in partnership with Aimbridge Hospitality and the RFU. Radisson Red, part of the Radisson Hotel Group, describes itself as an upper-upscale brand focused on informal service, bold design and social connection across its international portfolio.
