The Candlewood Suites property will be located in a former office building in the Hlíðar district, near the city’s main pedestrian street and attractions such as the Kjarvalsstaðir Art Gallery, the Icelandic Phallological Museum, and Sundhöllin Public Baths.
The 53-room property will feature studios and apartments with kitchens, designed for long-term stays.

The project is developed in collaboration with ALVA Capital, a Reykjavik-based investment and development firm. CEO Skorri Rafn Rafnsson stated:

Candlewood Suites offers services tailored for long-term guests, including fully equipped kitchens, self-service laundry, gym access, weekly housekeeping, and workspace. The Candlewood Cupboard provides 24/7 access to snacks, drinks, and essentials.

The brand has nine additional properties planned in Northern Europe and joins IHG’s global portfolio of over 410 open and 192 pipeline Candlewood Suites hotels since its acquisition in 2004.
