The Institute of Travel & Tourism (ITT) has secured a deal with ‘AI for Travel’ business SystemsX which will see the latter’s flagship Sense AI product available to ITT’s educational members across the UK.

Students studying travel and tourism related courses at more than 35 universities and colleges will have access to an exclusive ITT version of the SystemsX Sense AI platform.

This will enable students studying for a career in travel and tourism to learn, practice and develop their sales and customer service skills via role play and interactive learning with their lecturers and peers.

Each interaction will be monitored, reviewed and scored, giving instant feedback to the learner via SystemsX’s AI.

Chair of ITT’s Education and Training Committee, Claire Steiner, said: “Getting these AI tools into the hands of the next generation is a game-changer for students across the UK.

“Through our ITT Future You initiative, we often get feedback from universities and colleges that students struggle to get real world experience in our industry.

“This collaboration between ITT and SystemsX will ensure that travel and tourism students will be learning on cutting-edge AI technology that’s being used by travel agents and tour operators on a daily basis.

“The experiential learning, coupled with the immediate AI feedback, will help students hone their sales and customer service skills alongside their academic studies, setting them up for a career in travel and tourism”.

Gareth Arnold, Co-founder of SystemsX, added: “We’re excited about this collaboration with the ITT.

“As more travel companies adopt our AI technology, it’s great to give the next generation the chance to try out the tech and develop their skills before they join our industry.

“It’s also a win for the travel businesses that have implemented Sense within their business, as these students and graduates, their future workforce, will be familiar with and already trained on how to use the platform”.

The platform went live thus week and universities and colleges will be granted access in the coming weeks.
