MGallery Collection has announced the signing of V Villas Maldives at Mirihi – MGallery Collection, an all-villa resort scheduled to open by the beginning of 2026. The property will be located on the island of Mirihi in the South Ari Atoll. This project will mark MGallery’s first property in the Maldives.
The property was previously known as Mirihi Island Resort and will undergo a full renovation and expansion prior to reopening under the MGallery Collection name. The project is designed by Studio Gronda. Once completed, the resort will feature 42 villas including beach villas, overwater villas and multi-bedroom suites with private pools.
The resort is owned by VIE Maldives Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Thailand’s Major Cineplex Group. The owner is Vicha Poolvaraluck, who is also associated with several MGallery Collection properties in Thailand including VIE Hotel Bangkok – MGallery Collection, V Villas Hua Hin – MGallery Collection and V Villas Phuket – MGallery Collection.
“We are thrilled to launch this exceptional project bringing MGallery brand to one of the most aspirational destinations in the world – following the success of our three flagships in Bangkok, Hua Hin, and Phuket. The MGallery V Villas in Maldives will be a refined shelter, an authentic sanctuary where every stay relies on a deep connection with nature,” said Maud Bailly, CEO Sofitel Legend, Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems.
“We are delighted to partner with MGallery Collection on this exceptional project. Supported by our deepening relationship with Accor, V Villas Maldives at Mirihi – MGallery Collection brings to life the brand’s spirit of soulful travel and quiet luxury amidst the natural beauty of Mirihi island and Maldives’ vibrant culture,” said Mr. Vicha Poolvaraluk.
Guests will access the resort by a 25-minute seaplane journey from Malé International Airport. The renovation will include new interior concepts for all villas, the addition of a spa and wellness sanctuary, a new indoor and outdoor gym and yoga pavilion, updated food and beverage venues including an overwater restaurant, a new bar concept and the introduction of a main pool area.
The rebranding plan includes a focus on the island’s ecology and guest experiences. The resort will continue to offer diving and snorkeling activities in the surrounding marine environment. The project is also part of Accor’s ESG pilot program with sustainability integrated into its design, operations and guest journey.
MGallery Collection currently includes more than 120 boutique hotels worldwide. With the signing of V Villas Maldives at Mirihi – MGallery Collection, the brand expands its presence into the Maldives for the first time.
