Puerto Rico: A new boutique hotel has opened in Puerto Rico’s Condado district, with the launch of Magdalena 1163, a design-led property aimed at business and leisure travellers seeking a more personalised stay.
Developed by entrepreneurs María Isabel Esteve and Carlos López-Lay, the hotel features 10 suites spread across four floors, offering a mix of studio, deluxe and two-bedroom layouts. The property combines contemporary design with a focus on comfort, privacy and functionality, with each suite featuring a kitchenette, curated interiors and flexible lighting.
The hotel has been designed to appeal to travellers seeking a quieter, more refined alternative to larger resort-style accommodation. Amenities include a rooftop lounge and terrace, meeting space for small groups, a fitness area, and curated communal areas designed for both work and relaxation.
Magdalena 1163 also places an emphasis on local identity, incorporating artwork by Puerto Rican artists and partnerships with nearby restaurants and businesses. Guests have access to concierge-style services, 24/7 digital guest support, and on-site amenities including breakfast service and parking.
The property represents a new hospitality venture for the founders, who bring experience from the automotive sector and have positioned the hotel as a boutique alternative within the growing Condado hospitality market.
