The French capital’s summer got off to a slow start as tourists avoided the city early on, fearing overcrowding and high prices during the Olympics

Hotel bookings in Paris experienced a last-minute surge after a decline in June and July as the city prepared for the Olympic Games, which concluded on August 11.
