Universal Orlando Resort, the theme park and entertainment resort in Orlando, is set to add a Loews hotel within its upcoming Universal Epic Universe. Scheduled to open in 2025, Universal Epic Universe will be home to the 500-room Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a Loews Hotel.
The resort will be developed by the Universal Creative team and co-owned and operated by Loews Hotels & Co. Developed by the same creative team behind Epic Universe, the Mediterranean-inspired resort will have its own dedicated theme park entrance located off the lobby for hotel guests.
The hotel combines Universal’s experience in entertainment and creative theming with Loews’ hospitality standards to offer a new hospitality experience. Many rooms of the hotel will offer views of the Epic Universe. Unique to the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, the How to Train Your Dragon Kids’ Suites appeal to the children and are inspired by the Viking village of Berk.
Guests can choose from three dining venues — Flora Taverna (a full-service restaurant featuring open-style kitchen with live cooking); Aurora Market (a coffee shop and market offering hot beverages, grab-and-go food items and snack and dessert items); and Lotus Lagoon (a poolside bar and grill offering cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks and casual food items).
The hotel has a rooftop lounge, which offers 360-degree views of Epic Universe and beyond. Guests can enjoy a zero-entry pool, with underwater speakers and poolside cabanas along with a hot tub and recreational activities.
Guests staying at Universal Helios Grand Hotel, or any of the other Universal Orlando hotels, get Early Park Admission to enjoy select attractions at the theme parks – which will expand to include Universal Epic Universe once it opens in 2025 – up to one hour before the park opens with valid theme park admission.
Guests can also avail complimentary shuttle bus transportation to the theme parks and Universal City Walk, resort-wide charging privileges and more. Located a few miles from Universal Orlando’s existing offerings, Universal Epic Universe will offer multi-sensory environments and innovative technology across five themed worlds and a range of dining, shopping and entertainment spaces.
Epic Universe will be adjacent to three new Universal hotels, co-owned and operated by Loews Hotels & Co, — including sister properties, Universal Stella Nova Resort and Universal Terra Luna Resort and the Universal Helios Grand Hotel — which is located within the theme park.
Universal Helios Grand Hotel will bring the destination’s portfolio to 11 hotels and 11,000 rooms. The addition of the hotel also brings three reimagined hotel categories to Universal Orlando:
- The Signature Collection — Includes full-service hotels such as the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, Loews Royal Pacific Resort and Loews Sapphire Falls Resort.
- Prime Value Hotels — Offers a mix of services and amenities “made for comfort” and includes Universal Aventura Hotel, Universal Stella Nova Resort (to open in January, 2025) and Universal Terra Luna Resort (opening in February, 2025).
- Value Inns and Suites — Offers affordable options offering standard rooms and suites with kitchenettes and includes Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort and Universal Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn and Suites & Dockside Inn and Suites.
