At OKKAMI, we believe that giving back to society is not just a responsibility but an opportunity to make a lasting impact. We are proud to be part of the Pa Paa Project, a remarkable initiative aimed at enhancing education and promoting sustainable practices at Ban Nongkoon School in Nonghi District of Roi-Et, Thailand. Our involvement reflects OKKAMI’s ongoing commitment to supporting communities in need, empowering the next generation, and building a greener future.
Project Overview
Especially in the Northern part of Thailand where the Ban Nongkoon School is located, temperature during the day has most recently been reaching record levels at 45°~, creating an extremely tough environment for students and teachers to concentrate on their school activities.
The Pa Paa Project was launched to modernize Ban Nongkoon School, focusing on creating a more conducive and sustainable environment for both students and faculty members. Through community efforts, the school successfully raised funds to install solar panels and carry out vital construction work to renovate and upgrade its facilities, ensuring compatibility with air conditioning.
We are delighted to report that the school has succeeded in gathering the necessary funds, and all renovation work has been completed. The solar panels have been fully installed, enabling the school to operate in an energy-efficient manner while significantly reducing its reliance on traditional energy sources.
In partnership with Daikin Thailand, OKKAMI was able to become a part of this project by providing 11 wall-mounted air conditioning units, each with a capacity of 24,000 BTU, for every classroom. These units not only improve the comfort and health of the students but also support their ability to concentrate, study effectively, and succeed academically in a cooler and more pleasant atmosphere.
Leadership and Dedication
The success of this project is a direct result of the dedication and leadership of several key figures. Mr. Intad Lim, along with Ms Kingkaew Phihusut, have been deeply involved from the very beginning. They have made it a priority to visit the school every month to personally oversee the progress, and Mr. Lim has maintained daily communication with Mr. Sunsern Klinpoon, School Director, and other school representatives to ensure everything moves forward smoothly. Their hands-on involvement and commitment have played a critical role in bringing this project to life. Together, their dedication has made a significant difference to Ban Nongkoon School, positively affecting the lives of countless students and their families.
Ban Nongkoon School has expressed its heartfelt thanks to Mr. Lim and the entire OKKAMI team for helping turn their vision into reality. The completion of this project is not just a milestone for the school but a triumph for the entire community. The students now have a better environment to learn and grow, and the school has set a new standard for combining education with sustainability.
Building a Sustainable Future
This project goes beyond improving classroom conditions—it is about fostering a carbon-free environment and demonstrating the long-term benefits of sustainable energy solutions. By utilizing solar energy, Ban Nongkoon School is significantly reducing its carbon footprint while also cutting down on operational costs, allowing more resources to be directed toward the students’ education. OKKAMI’s focus on renewable energy aligns with our broader commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly practices.
With these upgrades, the students of Ban Nongkoon School now have an improved, comfortable space to focus on their studies. This project will inspire a sense of pride within the community, bringing everyone together to support education, innovation, and sustainability. The benefits will be felt for years to come as more students gain access to a learning environment that encourages both academic and personal growth.
A Brighter, Greener Tomorrow
We at OKKAMI are honored to have been a part of this incredible journey. By contributing to the modernization of Ban Nongkoon School and promoting sustainable practices, we are helping shape a brighter, greener tomorrow for these students and the wider community.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the school faculty, alumni, and the community at large for their tireless support and partnership in making this project a reality.
