USA, Houston, Texas.
September 24, 2024

Hotel Saint Augustine, a forthcoming boutique hotel from Austin’s acclaimed hospitality group Bunkhouse, is now accepting reservations for fall 2024.

As the first Bunkhouse hotel concept coming to Houston, Hotel Saint Augustine will further the brand’s reputation for creating some of the most celebrated hotels with a strong emphasis on design, rooted in the communities in which they exist. Located in the cultural heart of the city in Montrose’s Museum District, the hotel will be a brand-new build with 71 rooms and suites spread across five small buildings over two floors, in addition to an all-day restaurant, intimate lobby bar, event space, and cloistered circular courtyard pool.

The hotel looks forward to welcoming guests in mid-November, just in time for the holiday season. The booking engine, which officially launched today, is now accepting reservations for dates as early as November 15. The hotel’s opening will coincide with the opening of its all-day restaurant, Perseid, and intimate lobby bar.

The hotel’s interiors are designed by Post Company, the New York and Wyoming-based award-winning design studio, who were recently honored in the Wallpaper* USA 400 as one of the country’s leading design companies, in collaboration with Bunkhouse, who are creating an inviting and whimsical destination located across from the Menil Collection campus near the Menil Drawing Institute. While Hotel Saint Augustine is not directly affiliated with the Menil Collection, the property does seek to engender the ethos of the Menil family and the museum, drawing inspiration from the spirit of the museum collection and from Houston itself.

In keeping with Bunkhouse’s Texas roots, Hotel Saint Augustine’s architecture is designed by renowned Texas firm, Lake | Flato, with landscape architecture by lauded Texas studio, Ten Eyck. The property will be connected by open-air bridges and porches set to blend seamlessly into the neighborhood’s residential character, with four lushly landscaped courtyards and winding outdoor pathways to immerse guests in a private garden and encourage exploration.

The hotel’s food & beverage concepts, including the all-day restaurant, Perseid (per-see-id), lobby bar, and event spaces, will all be helmed by well-loved Houston Chef and restaurateur Aaron Bludorn (who has successfully opened three restaurants in Houston, including Bludorn, which was a semifinalist in the

James Beard Awards for 2024, Navy Blue, and most recently, Bar Bludorn). Under the direction of Chef Bludorn and Director of Operations Cherif Mbodji, Perseid will offer a take on the quintessential neighborhood bistro with a menu that pays homage to the global influences defining Houston’s food and culture through dishes that sit at the intersection of refined comfort and classic technique, with a focus on bold flavor.
