Taking over the space that was once inhabited by Marcus Wareing’s former flagship Marcus as well as all-day dining restaurant The Collins Room, the 250-cover La Môme London follows the success of the brother’s original La Môme restaurant in Cannes, La Môme Plage (also in Cannes) and La Môme Monte Carlo.

Expected to launch in January, the restaurant will ‘bring the glamour of the French Riviera, past and present’ to the high-profile hotel, which is located where Knightsbridge and Belgravia meet.

La Môme London will ‘serve quintessential Mediterranean dishes with a taste of Provence and Italy’ and a ‘contemporary and glamorous twist’.

Like the duo’s restaurants in Cannes and Monte Carlo, La Môme London will feature interiors designed by Cannes-based interior architect Samy Chams.

The main restaurant will seat 220 inside and 30 outside on a newly-created terrace. A 10-seater bar will serve cocktails and small bites.

Both will open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Evenings will be accompanied by live music – including a DJ, singer and pianist.

“We want to bring part of the elegance of the French Riviera of the 60s and 70s to Belgravia,” says Ugo.

“As in Cannes, La Môme London will exude the same upbeat, elegant vibe,” says Antoine. “We are trying to bring to The Berkeley an experience that is about all the senses: not only about the food, but about the welcome, the service, the music, the energy, where something interesting is happening every day.”

Marcus Wareing’s eponymous restaurant at the hotel closed at the tail end of last year having traded for over 20 years, first as Pétrus when it was part of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant empire, then as Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley when he took it over in 2008 and finally as Marcus.

The restaurant received its second star in 2007 but was downgraded to a one-star rating in the 2019 Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland.
