Broken Shaker, (2727 Indian Creek Drive) has long served as the ultimate backyard-inspired oasis for Miami Beach residents seeking fun, and relaxation. Now operated by Authentic Hospitality, Broken Shaker invites Miami locals and visitors alike to rediscover the venue that embodies tropical nostalgia. The award-winning destination, located at the design-forward lifestyle accommodation Freehand Miami, boasts a laid-back outdoor atmosphere reminiscent of a sophisticated, bohemian garden, complemented by a refined menu of refreshing cocktails and Pan-Latin and Caribbean dishes, all served with effortless hospitality.
Originally launched as a Miami pop-up in 2012, Broken Shaker has since laid down brick-and-mortar locations at Freehands in Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City. Now under the direction of Authentic Hospitality partners, Matt Kliegman, Carlos Quirarte and Matthew Charles, the trio are nationally recognized for their tried-and-true nightlife destinations, and have a particular knack for creating culturally-relevant concepts within historically-significant venues. In 2024, the industry vets were tapped to revitalize the Broken Shaker. The team has lovingly and thoughtfully restored the venue as an homage to the legacy brand that has been a beloved staple in the Miami nightlife scene for over a decade. “Broken Shaker has long been a space beloved by locals and travelers alike, especially in Miami Beach where the concept helped bring a new spirit to the scene” says Alastair Thomann,
Generator & Freehand Hotels CEO. “We’re thrilled to welcome in Authentic to continue Broken Shaker’s legacy while ushering in a bright future.”
Broken Shaker’s renewed beverage program is bringing easy-drinking and classic cocktails to the forefront with La Bamba Colada, a pina colada with tequila and Breakfast in the Moonlight, a passionfruit riff on a zombie. Taking helm of the re–invigorated culinary offerings are longtime Authentic partners and Michelin-Starred chefs, Wildair’s Jeremiah Stone and Fabian von Hauske Valtierra, bringing new flavors to poolside favorites with a selection of skewers, tacos, ceviche and of course, homemade ice cream sandwiches.
Broken Shaker is located at 2727 Indian Creek Drive and is open from 4pm – 12am Sunday to Wednesday and 4pm – 1am from Thursday to Saturday. Kitchen hours are 4pm – 12am daily. Reservations are available at RESY.
