Ana Gorjão Henriques has been named General Manager of Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Peninsula Papagayo, the brand’s first property in Central and South America and eighth in the Ritz-Carlton Reserve portfolio, set to open in early 2025. Nekajui (NEK-ah-wee), meaning “lush garden” in the Chorotega dialect, promises an ocean-facing retreat of unparalleled luxury, wellness, and adventure located in an unspoiled 1,400-acre tropical forest along the northwestern province of Guanacaste.

“Nekajui is transformative, pure, and immersive, providing a truly unique and tranquil experience,” said Henriques. “Our handpicked remote location and first-of-its-kind sanctuary celebrate the cultural and natural wonders of this breath-taking region. We’re thrilled to welcome guests in early 2025.”

Henriques, a 13-year veteran of The Ritz-Carlton Reserve brand, previously led Phulay Bay in Thailand and Mandapa in Bali. Immediately prior to joining Nekajui, she was General Manager of Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, in Puerto Rico. Her leadership will inspire exceptional service and personalized guest experiences that honor the region’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.
