Because you haven’t asked: my ten commandments for hotels going into 2025. You’re welcome (also to add yours).
—
If you’re an individual: get your local game right, create that only here, only me atmosphere, that sense of place, be a destination, be bold, be interesting, be bold.
If you’re a group: develop the network play, the we’re there, we got you covered wherever you are, avoid the standardisation trap, look for recurring essentials, think members and non-members only
In any case: recognition, recognition, recognition.
Related: meet the people where they are – and that’s true for interactions and interfaces (and by the way: learn the difference).
Also: positioning. Remember it comes from position, having one, stand for something, don’t fall for everything.
Designers: think scenarios, not still life, movies, not cutting room experiences, switch the decoration to decaf, life happens in the voids.
Everyone: move, be curious, learn, look around, travel, go see art.
On tech: what AI really means is “All In”, if you invest – and you should – don’t optimise singular processes, go for the system, and that starts with data.
Addendum on tech: see it as an augmentation game not as a replacement game, learn to ask the right questions.
Regardless of tech: learn to ask the right questions.

Final note: “how can we be more authentic” is a very weird question.
