Travel technology firm HBX Group has undergone quite a transformation recently, even a complete brand overhaul.

Its success, built on 5.6 billion searches a day, laid the foundations for plenty of learnings along the way.

Thirty representatives from prominent companies across the industry – including Skyscanner, Stripe, Travelport, and Expedia – attended to hear those learnings and candid insights on the undertaking of the transformation by guest speaker Paula Felstead, CTOO of HBX Group.

Amongst a champagne reception and a three-course dinner, attendees heard why the prominence of cyber security is critical, alongside thoughts on AI, change management, and what ‘A Day in the Life of’ HBX Group’s chief technology and operations officer looks like, from the CTOO herself.

Felstead said: Felstead said: “Transformation is challenging as many attending tonight can confirm, however with the right team, the right data and the full support of the organisation, big changes are possible.

“It’s not been a linear transformation, but we’re really starting to reap the benefits of the organisation-wide commitment to the transformation in HBX Group”.

DataArt, an enterprise software development company that hosted the event in collaboration with Travolution, awarded two $5,000 for DataArt Lab services as part of a prize draw during the evening.

Vasiliy Malinov, vice president of travel, transport and hospitality practice of DataArt, said: “Hosting this dinner with Travolution was a fantastic experience.

“The event brought together travel tech professionals for invaluable industry discussions and insights.

“The dynamic conversations and Paula’s expert thought leadership were both inspiring and educational, making it a memorable evening for all involved.”

Kate Harden-England, editor of Travolution, added: “The work which the company has carried out of late makes it a natural fit for thought leadership on digital transformation.

“Paula is a very valued part of the Travolution family, as a member of our advisory board, so it was an honour to have her as our speaker for this event and have her share expertise in this field with the guests.”
